"Re: the technical challenges with the long wooden handle floggers, they are not really meant to be used the way you are using them. Those floggers work much better for OVER the shoulder swinging, not under the arm. of course that may require a taller ceiling than you have at home to get the full swing force, but it will be much easier to target the center of the back and shoulder, where you want most of the hits to land. The long handle also gives you more leverage, so the work is more in the wrist and forearm than full arm as you are doing for the under-arm swinging.

These cats are nice, the shorter ones definitely are easier to use for self-discipline. The markings under your arms look nice.
