0If you really want to make him suffer, after he fails on the heavier weight, take a pound off and have him do it again. Keep reducing the weight every time he fails until he can barely just lift his arms. He'll be sore for a week afterward! But descending sets like that will sometimes break you out of a plateau. Just don't do this too often or he'll be "overtrained" and lose progress.
